Antholzer See

The Lake Antholz (Italian: Lago di Anterselva ) is a mountain lake at the end of the Antholz valley in the Italian province of South Tyrol, near the border with Austria at the Staller Sattel.

The lake belongs to the municipality Anterselva, situated on 1642 meters in height, has a maximum depth of 38 meters and covers an area of 44 hectares.

Beside the lake is the biathlon stadium, is known throughout Europe for the Antholz. Here already five Biathlon World Championships Biathlon World Championships 2007 were held, the last time. Moreover Biathlon World Cup races are held annually in Antholz. The routes are approximately 1600 meters, making them the highest in the Biathlon World Cup.
