Anthony Deane (skeleton racer)

Anthony Deane ( born July 3, 1984 in Hornsby ) is an Australian handball player and Skeleton pilot.

Anthony Deane lives in Sydney and is a distant relative of William Patrick Deane. At the age of 16 he started to play handball. As a semi-pro, he played in Europe for Ikast FS. For Australia's national team, he played more than 30 games and scored more than 70 goals. He participated in the Men's Handball World Championship for Men 2007 part in Germany, retired after three defeats with Australia but in the first round out. 2009 Deane moved to the Skeleton to try an individual sport in the Olympic Games to participate. He is coached by Rebecca Sorensen and Brian MacDonald. He only started in January of the year thus to operate the sports and drove in April as part of the Skeleton America's Cup in Lake Placid his first race and was immediately tenth. His international breakthrough in the sport had Deane in the 2009/10 season, when he won two America's Cup race in Calgary.
