Anthony Higgins (actor)

Anthony Higgins ( born May 9, 1947 in Northampton, UK ) is a British actor.

Life and career

Higgins is the son of an immigrant family from the south of Ireland, which came before the Second World War to England. He started at school, doing theater and graduated from drama school in Birmingham. First success came with the film A Journey with Love and Death ( 1969), Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970) and Vampire Circus (1972). In all previous films, he played under the pseudonym Anthony Corlan.

Higgins had with his participation in Castigata - The Punished (1974) and in other films opportunity to show dramatic potential; after a long time of television work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and on various stages he was obliged by Hollywood for a small role as Gobler in the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. In 1982, he played a major role in The Draughtsman's Contract, which led to other offers of "Art- house cinema " in Peter Greenaway. At the mid-1980s played Higgins in a number of above-average films and several television series (such as " Lace" (1984-1985 ) ).
