Anthony Peter Arida

Anton Peter Arida, also Antoine Boutros Arida and Pierre Antoine Arida ( born August 2, 1863 in Bsharri, Lebanon, † May 19 1955 in Bkerke, Lebanon ) was from 1932 to 1955 Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East.

Life

Anton Peter Arida learned the Arabic and Syriac language during his school days. He studied from 1884-1890 theology at the seminary of the Sulpician in Paris.
