Anthony Shaffer (writer)
Anthony Joshua Shaffer ( born May 15, 1926 in Liverpool; † 6 November 2001 in London) was the twin brother of Peter Shaffer. He was screenwriter (among other things for Hitchcock's Frenzy, Sommersby ), and author of plays, including revenge ( Sleuth ), which was made into a film starring Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine in the lead roles ( Sleuth ).
In 1971 he became Tony Award for his play with the Sleuth in the category Best play.
From 1985 until his death he was married to his second marriage to actress Diane Cilento. From his first marriage two children come. His twin brother Peter Shaffer is an eminent British playwright.
