Anthophobia

Anthophobie (Greek: anthos for flower phobos for fear ) refers to the morbid fear of flowers. Affected individuals avoid flowers, their parts and places where flowers are available.

Formation

One possible cause for the emergence of Anthophobie is an allergy to one or more flowers. Since the person is anxious to avoid an allergic reaction, he tries mostly to avoid contact with the particular plant. In some cases, it may happen that the patient uses this behavior with other plants and may thus lead to a phobia.

Another potential disease triggers are other phobias. For example, move the person concerned to a fear of bees or other insects ( Akarophobie ), also a fear of flowers, where insects could be found to build up.
