Anti-Vibration Compound

Anti- vibration compound is a heat-resistant blend of a liquid with particulate solids. It is used to reduce high-frequency vibrations, such as in the calender rolls of paper machines. The occurrence of such vibration reducing performance of a calender, or even of the entire paper machine. The reasons are, for example, the thickness profile variations of the paper web in the machine direction, bearing damage, misalignment of the drive shafts.

Is achieved a smoother running of the calender rolls and thus higher operating speeds. The intervals between sharpening the polymeric covers extend due to the lower tendency to barring. Other Uses of Anti- vibration compound are the filling of welded machine beds or the calming of measuring arms in measuring machines.

For the application of anti - vibration compound in calender rolls a German patent was granted ( DE 103 58 292 B3). Patent holders are the SHW Casting Technologies and MFS Maschinenfabrik GmbH.
