Antiesenhofen

Antiesenhofen is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Ried in the Innviertel with 1093 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Ried.

Geography

Antiesenhofen is located on 346 m altitude in Innviertel - the highest point of the municipality lies at 440 m above sea level. The expansion is 4.3 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 3.9 km. The total area is 8.6 km ². 11.6 % of the area is forested, 65.1 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Through the town flows the eponymous Antiesen.

Quarters are Antiesenhofen, Mitter thing, Unger thing and Viehausen.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: Azure, from a golden Dreienberg growing a silver, red bezungter dog with a red collar, together with golden ring.

The municipality colors are blue and white - blue.

This coat of arms was the former coat of arms of the Meuse Bacher count.

History

Antiesenhofen includes not only the adjacent Münsteuer the oldest parish places of Innviertel, in the neighboring towns, there were also in Roman times colonizations.

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then Innbaiern ) to Austria. As the area was occupied during the Spanish War of Succession by the Habsburgs, Antiesenhofen belonged to the only existing 1711 to 1714 Ried County of Prince Trautson. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1816 finally to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the village belonged to the Upper Danube. After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.

The grave lay the owner of Castle Maas river is located in the parish of Antiesenhofen where the lords of the castle were buried until the end of the 18th century. The former Maas Bacher- grave chapel has now been provided with benches and integrated into the choir of the church.
