Antiochus Hierax

Antiochus Hierax (c. 263 BC; † 227 BC) was the younger son of Antiochus II Seleukidenkönigs After this the year 246 BC, poisoned by Laodice, died this sat by her son Seleucus II Kallinikos became king. Against this raised his brother Antiochus Hierax claims and proceeded to establish its own rule in Asia Minor. While here he was able to hold several years, but came into conflict with King Attalus I of Pergamum, who drove him from Asia Minor. He then fled to Egypt and even driven out, to Thrace, where he was killed by robbers.

Antiochus Hierax was married to a daughter of the king of Bithynia Ziaelas. His epithet ( " hawk " ) refers to his ambitious character.
