Antipater of Cyrene

Antipater of Cyrene was a Greek ancient philosopher of the 4th century BC in Cyrene. Within the history of philosophy, he is counted among the Kyrenaikern.

About Antipater of Cyrene is virtually nothing is known. He was, according to Diogenes Laertius, a pupil of the philosopher Aristippus of Cyrene and teachers of Epitimes of Cyrene. According to Cicero, he was blind to him mourning women have said that the night offers pleasure. A third and final source is found in the Vatican Gnomologium Epicureum.
