Antipositivism

The Antipositivismus is in social science, the view that empiricism and the scientific method must be rejected in the development of social theory and empirical social research. Also research methods are referred to as anti- positivist in the social sciences, which expressly call for a qualitative complement quantitative data.

In the philosophy of law positions are referred to as anti- positivist, which build on the natural law or the law of reason and reject a legal positivism. Philosophical positions of Antipositivismus include idealism, phenomenology or critical rationalism.

In psychology Antipositivismus characterizes the view that there are empirically elusive levels of consciousness, as expressed for example in the opposition between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
