Antique (Band)
Antique was a Swedish- Greek pop duo that consisted 1999-2003. The members were Elena Paparizou (Greek: Έλενα Παπαρίζου ) and Nikos Panagiotidis (Greek: Νίκος Παναγιωτίδης )
In 1999, the Swedish label Bonnier Music had to merge the idea of traditional Greek songs with modern dance rhythms. They learned then Elena Paparizou and Nikos Panagiotidis, a friend of hers know. Direct her first single, a modern version of Notis Sfakianakis classic Opa Opa was a hit, the others followed. As - in Greece - relatively unknown band, they won the preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest in 2001 and were therefore go to the contest to Copenhagen. With their pop song ( I Would ) Die for You she reached the third place.
The group broke up in 2003.
