Antiresonance

Anti-resonance is a term from the harmonic oscillation, which is often used in electrical resonant circuits.

Than the portions of the anti-resonance frequency impedance curve to be referred to, wherein the impedance has a local maximum and the phase angle ( between the input and output voltage) 180 °. Analogously, can be in mechanical oscillating systems sections with low vibration ( " high mechanical resistance " ) to the concept of anti-resonance.

For coupled mechanical oscillators is called anti-resonance, when the frequency response between two natural frequencies indicates a minimum. The force on the mass at the point of discharge is compensated by an oscillating in anti-phase mass.
