Antlia Dwarf

The Antlia Dwarf Galaxy (catalog designation PGC 29194 ) is a dwarf elliptical galaxy ( type DE3) in the constellation of air pump. The only 5500 light-years in diameter measured galaxy has an angular extent of 2.0 × 1.5 arcmin and is at a distance of about 4.6 million light- years, one of the most distant members of the Local Group. With a brightness of only 14.8 likes this galaxy is not visible with small telescopes. The Antlia dwarf galaxy was discovered in 1985 by Harold G. Corwin, Gerard H. de Vaucouleurs and Antoinette de Vaucouleurs. Only in 1997 was not published in a report their possible membership in the local group.
