Anto Đapić

Anto Đapić ( born August 22, 1958 in Čaprazije ) is a Croatian right politician and honorary chairman of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP ).

Đapić was born in Čaprazije, near Livno in western Bosnia. His father and his grandfather went in 1962 as guest workers to Germany. His mother died in a car accident when he was still a teenager.

His first political successes he achieved in 1991, when he merged the HSP with the GTTZ.

In the Croatian war, he was a commander of the HOS ( Hrvatske obrambene Snag, Croatian Defence Forces ) for a short time. In May 2001 he became mayor of Osijek with 43.01 percent of the vote.
