Antofagasta de la Sierra

The volcanic field Antofagasta de la Sierra has some of the youngest volcano of the Puna region of Argentina. The volcanic field is located southwest of the volcano and Beltrán between the Salar de Antofalla and the huge crater of the volcano Galán in the east. The basaltic - andesitic cinder cones and lava flows appear to be only a few thousand years old. Exact datings are not yet available.
