Antoine Craan

M. Antoine Craan ( born January 17, 1931 in Port-au -Prince, Haiti, † January 12, 2010 ) was a Haitian- Canadian professional soccer player.

Antoine Craan was born in Port -au -Prince; in 1955 he moved to Montreal and played for the club from now on " Le Tricolore de Montréal ". Craan was one of the first two dark-skinned soccer players in the province of Quebec. In the 1960s, he took on an activity in the Football Association of the Province, and later he worked mainly in the referee training.

In the 1980s Craan found the so-called Raelism and was ordained a priest of this religion later. Craan, a seven-time father, lived until the mid-1990s in Montreal, before he returned to his homeland to work in a managerial position for the Haitian Football Federation. He married a second time. On 12 January 2010 he was killed in the great earthquake of falling debris in his office. Even his wife and stepdaughter Mihalove fell victim to the earthquake, they were buried in a cemetery near his office.
