Antoine de Léris

Antoine de Leris ( born February 8, 1723 in Mont -Louis, † 1795) was a French writer and theater historian.

De Leris published in 1754 his main work Dictionnaire portatif of the Theatres, the second edition appeared in 1763 under the title Dictionnaire historique et littéraire portatif of théatres. It is an important source for the history of theater in Paris this time, among other things, includes a chronology of theater and opera performances and portraits of actors and singers. The work appeared in 1970 as a reprint.

1853 appeared his treatise La Géographie Rendue aiSee (La Géographie Rendue aiSee, ou Traité pour apprendre la méthodique géographie, rangé dans un ordre nouveau, propre à l' étude de cette faciliter science, avec un abrégé de la sphère et une table en très ample forme de dictionnaire ). He is also co-author of Antoine- Jacques Labbets Sentiment d'un harmoniphile sur différents ouvrages de musique (1756 ), the reprint was published in 1972 and emerged as the libretto author.
