Antoine Sfeir

Antoine Sfeir ( born November 21, 1948 in Beirut ) is a Franco- Lebanese journalist and professor.

He is the editor of the French magazine Les Cahiers de l' Orient ( "Orient - books ", a magazine that deals with the Middle East ), is President of the Centre d' études et de Reflexions sur le Proche -Orient and Professor of International Relations at the Grande école CELSA (Centre d' études scientifiques et littéraires appliquées ), which belongs to the Sorbonne University.

He is next to Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Salman Rushdie and Ibn Warraq one of the signatories of the Manifesto of the 12, calling for an " resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular ."
