Anton Dietz

The Innsbruck Anton Dietz is an Austrian Righteous Among the Nations.

On January 18, 1945, the command arrived to transport all the inmates of the prison Innsbruck to the Bergen -Belsen. With the help of the police inspectors Karl Dickbauer and Anton Dietz escape of five Polish Jews from prison was planned. Two women pulled off this flight.

Police Inspector Anton Dietz had the girls worried hidden forged papers. Dietz had indicated that the two Christian Poles have lost their papers on their way from Poland to Austria. Thus they received job cards than Christian- Polish foreign workers. With the support of the police inspector Dietz, the girls were taken to the village of St. Martin Salzburg. As a Polish foreign workers they survived the war.

Two other girls from the Innsbruck prison received by Anton Dietz new papers and could work in the village of St. Martin as Polish foreign workers.
