Anton Eisenhoit
Anthony Eisenhoit (also Eisenhoit of Warburg, * 1553/1554 in Warburg Old Town in the Prince-Bishopric of Paderborn; † autumn 1603 in Warburg ) was a German goldsmith, silversmith, engraver and draftsman.
Life
After teaching and years of traveling and living for several years in Rome, where he worked for a member of the papal curia, he returned to Warburg. There, he made twenty years of art, mostly contract work as for the Metallotheca Vaticana by Michele Mercati on. He was also referred to as German Benvenuto Cellini.
Honors
The " Eisenhoitschule " in Warburg, special school with a program focusing on learning, was named after him.
