Anton Elbel

Anton Elbel (born 6 January 1834 in Vienna, † October 3, 1912 in Baden ) was an Austrian engineer and locomotive designer.

Life

Anton Elbel received part of his education at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna. In 1856 he started at the Carinthian train to work. When she came to Southern Railway, he moved with and was from 1860 to 1867 in the design office of the Southern Railway in Vienna worked.

After that, he spent several years inspector of general contractor for the construction of the Hungarian Western Railway. 1872 to 1892 he was with the Austrian Northwestern Railway, most recently as Central inspector and head of the design office.

Together with Louis Adolf Gölsdorf he designed luggage locomotives for economic operations management that have been used on several Austro-Hungarian railways.
