Anton Florian, Prince of Liechtenstein

Anton Florian ( born May 28, 1656 Wilfersdorf Castle, † October 11, 1721 in Vienna) was the 5th Prince of Liechtenstein from 1718 to 1721 and from 1719, the first governor of the kingdom of the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Life

Anton Florian was prepared very early in the acquisition of an important political function at the court of the Emperor. Therefore he received in 1676 the office of imperial chamberlain and in 1687 the Hungarian one Indigenten. Two years later was admitted to the Privy Council, and so sent him Emperor Leopold I as Envoy Extraordinary and from 1691 as ambassador to the papal court to Rome.

Because of his enormous knowledge Anton Florian 1693 with the education of the Archduke Charles, the future Emperor Charles VI. , Responsible and appointed to the High Steward. 1697, after his recognition of the Order of the Golden Fleece, he traveled from 1703 to 1711 for nunmehrigen King Charles III. of Spain, as the Lord High Steward and First Minister to fight for there for this in the War of Spanish Succession.
