Anton Pieck

Anton Franciscus Pieck ( born April 19, 1895 in Den Helder, † 25 November 1987 in Overveen) was a Dutch painter, draftsman and printmaker.

Pieck was 1920-1960 teacher of drawing in Bloemendaal. His drawings have often nostalgic character and are very popular in the Netherlands.

At the beginning of the 1950s Pieck was entrusted with the design of the original fairy tale park Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, from which developed the largest amusement park in the Netherlands.

Anton Pieck Henri Christiaan Pieck twin brother was also a painter, draftsman and illustrator.

In his place of death Overveen Pieck was honored with a bronze bust, also a school was named after him in Kaatsheuvel. Since 1984 there is an Anton Pieck Museum in Hattem.
