Anton Regh

Anton " Toni" Regh ( born September 12, 1940) is a former German football player. The all-round players of the 1st FC Cologne won the DFB-Pokal with the " Billy Goat Elf " in the years 1962 and 1964, the German football championship, and in the 1967/68 season.

Career

At the age of eight years Regh began playing football at SV black and white Stotz home. He celebrated the first national success in rows, the association selection of the Middle Rhine in the competition of countries Cup of the year 1960. The Middle Rhine won the final with 3-0 goals against Hesse and Regh acted here as a defender on the side of players like Gero Bisanz, Karl- Heinz Thielen, Karl -Heinz Ripkens, Willi Bergstein, Alfred Glenski and Willibert Kremer. His talent led Regh on 1 June 1961 in the National Amateur of the DFB. When international match of the DFB amateur team in Oberhausen against the Netherlands, he formed together with Hermann Michel in front of goalkeeper Klaus Schonz the defender pair. In total he participated in 21 European Cup games for the first FC Cologne and scored two goals. In his last active season at the 1 FC Cologne, 1967/68, he came under coach Willi Multhaup again on 14 missions. His last Bundesliga game Regh completed on 25 May 1968 in a 2-1 away win against the defending champion Eintracht Braunschweig. For winning the DFB Cup in 1968, he wore through the five missions in the games against Eintracht Frankfurt (including replay ), Eintracht Braunschweig (again with playoff ) in the semifinals on May 3, 1968 in a 3-0 home win against Borussia Dortmund significantly. In the finals on June 9 against VfL Bochum he came, however, not used. In the following 1968/69 season he came under the Multhaup successor Hans Merkle never use more. After 100 league games with three goals he left in the summer of 1969 at FC Cologne 1 and joined local rivals SC Fortuna Köln in the Football Regionalliga West.

When he came under Fortuna patron Hans Löring - Löring denied 1969/70 nor even eight games in the regional - and coach Vladimir Beara in the relegation battle. On the side of the service provider Karl Lambertin Regh completed 27 games with two goals and the Fortuna held the 14th position reached the class. In his second season at Fortuna Cologne, 1970/71, came with his former FC colleague Ernst -Günter Habig a new coach and with Wolfgang Glock, Helmut mountain fields, Uwe Blotenberg, Manfred circle, Werner Waddey and Gerd Zimmermann reinforcements in the squad of players. Fortuna Köln came fourth and Regh ended in 1971 after a total of 49 missions in the Regionalliga with six goals his pro career.

Regh then took over as player-coach of the country's division TSC Euskirchen, followed by another coach stations in the middle Rhine amateur. He occasionally played yet for unterklassige clubs, so for the Olympics Cologne, TuS Clovis Zuelpich and the SC - Enzen Dürscheven, for which he was still playing at the age of 50 years as a defender in the circle League A. As a coach, he reached in 1994 the rise of the SC - Enzen Dürscheven in the county league A.
