Anton Siluanov

Anton Hermanovitch Siluanow (Russian Антон Германович Силуанов; born April 12, 1963 in Moscow ) is a Russian economist and politician. Since December 2011 he has been Minister of Finance in the Government of the Russian Federation.

In 1985, Siluanow a degree in economics from the Moscow Financial Institute, specializing in " financial and credit doctrine ", and received his doctorate in 1994, Dr. oec. publ. ( кандидат экономических наук, " Candidate of economic sciences "). After his military service 1986-1987 he worked in the Finance Ministry of the Russian Federation and took over management functions soon. Among others, he worked for several years Deputy Head of the Financial Department.

Since July 2003 Siluanow was Deputy Minister of Finance and in this function responsible for budgetary control and the allocation of government funds to the 83 federal subjects.

Following the resignation of Alexei Kudrin Siluanow was in September 2011, initially acting finance minister. Then took place on December 16, 2011 his official appointment to the ministerial post by President Medvedev. At the same time Siluanow was also appointed a member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
