Antonio de Nigris

Antonio de Nigris Guajardo ( born April 1, 1978 in Monterrey, † November 15, 2009 in Larissa, Greece) was a Mexican football player.

Career

Antonio de Nigris began his career as a professional at his hometown club CF Monterrey. On 20 March 2006 he signed a contract at FC Santos. His debut was the striker against Brasiliense FC Copa do Brasil. Prior to his time at Santos Antonio de Nigris played for Club America, FC Villarreal, Poli Ejido Deportivo, Once Caldas, Puebla FC and UNAM Pumas.

After only five months at FC Santos, he moved again, this time it went to Turkey to Gaziantepspor. In the winter transfer period in 2008, he moved to Ankaraspor. His contract was to run until 30 June 2010. In January 2009 he moved on loan to MKE Ankaragucu. In summer 2009, he moved free transfer to the Greek first division AE Larisa.

Antonio de Nigris has died aged 31 of a heart attack. He had two brothers, Aldo de Nigris is also a football player in CF Monterrey. The oldest brother Alfonso de Nigris works as a model and actor.
