Antonio Fassina

Antonio Fassina ( born July 26, 1945 in Valdobbiadene ) is an Italian former rally driver and entrepreneur who earned his rallies under the pseudonym Tony.

Career in motorsports

Antonio Fassina denied his rallies in the 1970s and 1980s, and was there primarily successful in racing events in Italy. 1976 and 1979 he won on a Lancia Stratos HF, the overall rating of the Italian Rally Championship. In 1981 he again won this championship, this time at the wheel of an Opel Ascona. A year later he secured the overall title of the European Rally Championship.

In the World Rally Championship, he was only five at the start, and this only at the Rally San Remo 1976-1981. His performances there, however, were very successful. In 1979, he won on a Lancia Stratos Scuderia Jolly Club before Attilio Bettega and Walter Röhrl, the factory Fiat 131 Abarth drove. 1977 and 1981 he finished third. In his five starts, he scored 28 special stage.

Entrepreneur

After his racing career he opened in Milan Fassina Group, an automotive shop and manufacturer representative. Today the company is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Italy, and distributes both models of the Fiat Group and Audi also exclusive vehicles from Ferrari, McLaren and Infiniti.
