Antonio Giovinazzi

Antonio Giovinazzi (born 14 December 1993) is an Italian race car driver. He started in 2013 in the European Formula 3 Championship.

Career

Giovinazzi began his motorsport career in karting in 2006, where he was active until 2012. Among other things, he was third in the 2011 CIK - FIA KF2 World Cup. 2012 moved Giovinazzi and competed in the Formula Pilota China Series for Eurasia Motorsport. At the first event in Sepang succeeded Giovinazzi in each of the three races from pole position starting to win the race and set the fastest lap of the race. With a total of six wins and thirteen podium finishes Giovinazzi decided in his debut season in the championship. With 229 to 179 points he won against Dan Wells. In addition, he completed three guest appearances in Formula Abarth for BVM. Giovinazzi won two races and finished second once. Since he took over as a guest driver, he was awarded no points for these results.

2013 moved Giovinazzi completely back to Europe and started for Double R Racing in the European Formula 3 Championship. He finished the season in 17th place overall and was the pilot einizige his team, who scored points. In addition Giovinazzi 2013 was active for Double R Racing in the British Formula 3 Championship. There he won two races and was a total of seven times on the podium. With 135 to 176 points, he was runner-up behind Jordan King.
