Antonio Martino

Antonio Martino ( born December 22, 1942 in Messina ) is an Italian politician of the Popolo della Libertà.

Life

Antonio Martino, son of former Foreign Minister and President of the European Parliament Gaetano Martino, studied law and put his exam from 1965. He was Professor of Economics at the LUISS University in Rome.

Services

Antonio Martino was a co-founder of Forza Italia and was elected to the House of Representatives in 1994. He was foreign minister in the first Berlusconi government and in 1996 and 2001, re-elected as an MP. From 2001 to 2006 he was Secretary of Defense.
