Antonio Mateos

Antonio Mateos Luna y Menjibar is a Spanish prop and set designers, who at the Academy Awards in 1971 for the war movie Patton - Rebell in Uniform ( 1970) won the Oscar for Best Production Design.

Life

Mateos began his career in the film industry in 1954 as a property manager in France and Spain and in 1954 for the first time participated in equipping the film El Torero and Un día perdido. During his career, he worked on over 100 films as a prop and set designers.

For his work as production designer in the war film Oscar for Best Production Design (1970 ), who was also one of his few internationally known films, he received at the Academy Awards in 1971 along with Urie McCleary, Gil Parrondo and Pierre -Louis Thévenet the Oscar for Best Production Design.

Most recently, he worked as a property manager in 2000 with the creation of the film by Manuel Jara Estudillo.
