Antonio Mirante ( born July 8, 1983 in Castellammare di Stabia (NA ), Italy) is an Italian football goalkeeper who is under contract with FC Parma since July 2010.

Career

Antonio Mirante went through the youth teams of Juventus, in the season 2003/ 04 he turned professional team but did not play. The following season he was to gain experience on loan to FC Crotone in Serie B, where he was a regular goalkeeper and his team managed to avoid relegation. The following season played on loan with the Mirante AC Siena in Serie A, where he made his debut in the 2-1 on 28 August 2005 at the match against Cagliari Calcio and drew attention to himself by good performance. During this time the goalkeeper was also a few times in the squad of the Italian U-21 national team, but did not play.

For the season 2006/ 07 Antonio Mirante returned to Juventus, which had relegated to Serie B due to the manipulation scandal. Already in the pre-season he showed a convincing performance in friendly matches against AC Milan and Inter Milan. As Juve's undisputed number 1 Gianluigi Buffon was sent off on 18 November 2006 with a match against UC AlbinoLeffe after an emergency brake, Mirante came to his debut for Juventus. In the following years he completed a total of seven second-division games in which he performed well and reached with Juventus direct resurgence.

For the 2007 /08 season gave him Juve at Sampdoria, where Antonio Mirante completed 13 Serie A games, but Luca Castellazzi was behind only the second goalie. In summer 2008 the Genoese bought for 1.3 million euros 50% of his transfer rights and committed it to others. 2008/ 09 Mirante completed only a few games for Samp, mostly Castellazzi it was preferred.

In June 2009, the transfer business was extended for one year, after Mirante moved to hire Serie A team FC Parma. In June 2010, he was finally obliged by FC Parma.
