Antonio Ruberti

Antonio Ruberti ( born January 24, 1927 in Aversa; † 4 September 2000 in Rome ) was an Italian politician and engineer. He was a member of the Italian government and the European Commission.

Biography

In 1987 he became a member of the Italian government as Minister of Scientific and Technological Research Coordination. He retained his office until 1992. 1993 he was nominated by the Italian government as a member of the European Commission. In the Delors Commission III, he was responsible for the area of ​​education and culture. In office he remained until 1995, during this period, he completed a series of new initiatives including the Socrates and Leonardo da Vinci, the European Week Scientific Culture and the European Science and Technology Forum. After leaving the Commission, he was elected to the Italian Parliament, where he was chairman of the Committee on European policy.
