Antonio Scontrino

Antonio Scontrino ( born May 17, 1850 in Trapani, † January 7, 1922 in Florence) was an Italian composer.

Scontrino studied from 1861 to 1870 at the Conservatory of Palermo and then in Munich. Until 1891, he appeared as a double bassist. By 1898 he was a teacher of composition at the Conservatory of Palermo, then in Florence.

He composed five operas, several large orchestral pieces, a double bass, bassoon and a piano concerto, four string quartets, incidental music, piano pieces, choruses and songs.
