Antonis Fostieris

Antonis Fostieris (Greek Αντώνης Φωστιέρης; born 1951 in Athens ) is a Greek poet.

Life

Fostieris studied law in Athens and Legal History in Paris. Since 1971, he has published eight books of poetry, many of which have been translated into other languages. From 1974 to 1976, he brought the magazine " New Poetry" out. In 1993 he was with the international " Cavafy Prize for poetry", in 1998 with the Vrettakos Prize of the City of Athens, 2004 with the State Prize for poetry and in 2010 with the poet price of " Kostas and Eleni Ouranis Foundation " the Academy of Athens for his oeuvre excellent. In cooperation with Thanasis Niarchos he gave from 1975 to 1981, the annual magazine " Poetry" out. He was the initiator and editor of the following anthologies: Contemporary love poetry (1987 ), Greek poet write about the sea (1997), and the bands with interviews: In the second person (1990). Since 1981 he has been responsible for the literary magazine I Lexi ( The Word ).
