Antonov A-15

The Antonov A-15 is a Soviet Glider Open Class.

The built entirely of metal mid-wing ( monocoque construction ) had as a special feature a V-tail. The wing was fitted with a laminar profile. The chassis consists of a retractable main wheel and tail skid. As flaps serve Fowler flaps, spoilers beyond that are in the wings.

The machine had been created specifically for the performance glider. But she was also approved for aerobatics. The instrumentation was sufficient to pierce clouds. The first flight took place on 26 March 1960. With this type in 1960 some international records were flown.
