Antony Anandarayar

Antony Anandarayar ( born July 17, 1945 in Varadarajanpet ) is Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore.

Life

Antony Anandarayar received on 21 December 1971, the ordination. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 2 January 1997 as Bishop of Ootacamund.

Emeritus Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, Duraisamy Simon Cardinal Lourdusamy, donated to him on January 29th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were James Masilamony Arul Das, Archbishop of Madras - Mylapore, and Michael Augustine, Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore.

As a motto he chose Servire in Fide et in Amore. On 10 June 2004 he was appointed Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore and introduced into the office on 5 July of the same year.
