Antony Fowler

Anthony Fowler (born 10 March 1991) is an English amateur boxer from Liverpool.

Boxing career

He began at the age of 10 years with boxing, won the 2007 British Cadet Championships, 2008 and 2009 the English Junior Championships, and in 2010 the English elite championships in the welterweight division. In addition, he could both 2011 and 2012 to decide the British Elite Championships welterweight for themselves.

His biggest international successes are winning a bronze medal in the light welterweight in the first EU Championships Cadets in Italy in 2007, and the bronze medal in the middleweight division at the World Championships in 2013 in Kazakhstan. At the World Cup he was able to prevail (2:1) against Victor Corobcevschii from Moldova (3-0), Abdelmalek Rahou from Algeria (3-0), Dmitro Mitrofanov from Ukraine ( 3-0) and Stefan Härtel in Germany and reached so that the semi-final against Schanibek Alimchanuli from Kazakhstan. Due to a hand injury but Fowler was unable to start the fight, making his opponent automatically progressed by walkover into the final.

  • April 2012: 1st place in the welterweight division at the Olympic Gloves Tournament in Estonia
  • April 2013: 1st place in the middleweight division at the Feliks master tournament in Poland
  • September 2013: 1st place in the middleweight division at the Ahmet Cömert tournament in Turkey
