Antony Gibbs

Antony Gibbs ( born October 17, 1925) is a British cutter.

Life

Gibbs began his career in the film business as an assistant editor of the editors Alan Osbiston and Ralph Kemplen. From 1959 he worked as a stand-alone cutter. In the 1960s he was involved in six films of director Tony Richardson. In later years he worked several times with directors Norman Jewison and John Frankenheimer.

In the 1970s, Gibbs was nominated three times for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Editing Kategegorie. 1998 and 2002 he was both awarded the Eddie Award.

In the course of his career he was involved in about 50 productions.

In 2002 he was honored by the American Cinema Editors with the ACE Career Achievement Award.
