Antti Aalto

Antti Aalto ( born March 4, 1975 in Lappeenranta ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who played in his playing career from 1991 to 2006, among others, for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League.

Career

Antti Aalto began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at Jokerit Lappeenranta, for which he was active in the I Divisioona 1991-1993. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the sixth round as the 134th overall player of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. First, however, he played four years for TPS Turku in the SM- liiga, with whom he first Finnish Champion, and 1994, 1996 and 1997 runner-up in 1995. In addition, the attacker won the European Cup with his team in 1994 and 1997, the European Hockey League.

In the 1997/98 season Aalto finally made ​​his debut for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League, for whom he stood in the following four seasons as well on the ice, but also for their farm team, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League. In the summer of 2001, the links Sagittarius returned to his Finnish homeland, where he received a contract with Jokerit Helsinki, with whom he was in the 2001/02 season champion, and the 2003 IIHF Continental Cup won. After two years with Jokerit Aalto was obliged by his former club TPS Turku, with which he once again was runner-up in the 2003/04 season, and in which he ended his career in the summer of 2006.

Internationally

For Finland Aalto took the U20 World Junior Championships in 1994 and 1995, as well as the World Championships in 1997, 2000 and 2002 in part. In addition, he was in the squad Finland at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
