Antti Laaksonen

Antti Laaksonen Akseli ( born October 3, 1973 in Tammela ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who has played in its active from 1990 to 2010 was for the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League.

Career

Antti Laaksonen began his career as a hockey player at FPS Forssa, for which he was active in the I divisioona 1990-1993. The 1992/93 season he finished with HPK Hämeenlinna in the SM- liiga, with whom he was runner-up. He then played four years for the ice hockey team of the University of Denver before he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 in the eighth round when a total 191 players from the Boston Bruins. For their farm team, the Providence Bruins, he played in the 1997/98 season in the American Hockey League as well as for the Charlotte Checkers of the East Coast Hockey League. In the following season, the attacker won the Calder Cup with Providence and Boston gave his debut in the National Hockey League.

After three years in the franchise of the Boston Bruins, left Laaksonen this was 2000 and the next four years for their league rivals, the Minnesota Wild, on the ice. During the lockout in the 2004/ 05 NHL season, the Finn set out with ice hockey. Following the resumption of gaming operations in the NHL the links Sagittarius received a contract with the Colorado Avalanche, for which he was active until 2007. He also played in the 2006/07 season for their AHL farm team, the Albany River Rats.

After 14 years in North America Laaksonen returned in the summer of 2007 returned to Europe, where he was engaged by Fribourg- Gottéron from the Swiss National League A, which he already left after only one year to play in his native Finland for Lukko Rauma, 2010 where he ended his career.

Internationally

For Finland Laaksonen took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 1993, as well as the World Championships in 2001 and 2004 in part. In addition, he was in the squad of Finland at the World Cup of Hockey in 2004, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
