Antti Miettinen

Antti Miettinen Markus ( born July 3, 1980 in Hämeenlinna ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who stands in July 2013 in Fribourg- Gottéron in the National League A under contract.

Career

Antti Miettinen learned the Hockey game at his home club HPK Hämeenlinna and went through there all the youth teams. He soon gained a reputation as a prolific right winger, which he placed in the various junior leagues of Finland to the test. In the season 1998/99 he made his debut in the elite league of Finland, the SM- liiga. In the same season also continued to play for the junior team of HPK and for Forssan Palloseura from the second division in Finland. The following year, his career in the SM- liiga only started properly - he scored in 39 games three points. Nevertheless, he continued to play well for the juniors of HPK, where he showed his offensive abilities better proof. In the 2000/2001 season, he was an integral part of the professional team of HPK and brought it in 55 games on 24 points - his last assignments at the Junior ran successfully (4 games, 3 goals, 10 assists). In the following two seasons, he celebrated his breakthrough in the SM- liiga, which ultimately also the Dallas Stars management moved to equip him with a contract after they selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the seventh round as 224. In the season 2002/ 03 he scored in 53 games 25 goals and 25 assists and added in 10 playoff games added another 10 points - he was appointed to the All-Star team for this achievement and got the Kultainen kypärä and the Lasse Oksanen - awarded trophy.

For the season 2003/ 04 Antti Miettinen then moved into the NHL with the Dallas Stars, but mainly played in their farm team in the AHL, the Utah Grizzlies. In 48 games for the Grizzlies, he went to 30 points (23 assists, 7 goals) and was fourth- best scorer on the team. His NHL debut came on October 8 against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, his first NHL goal he scored in the next game on October 11 against the Nashville Predators.

In the season 2004/ 05 he played due to the lockout in the AHL for the Hamilton Bulldogs, who were the farm team of the stars at that time. In 35 games for the Bulldogs, he scored eight goals and 20 assists - a large part of the season he missed because of a shoulder injury. His first full NHL season, he completed 2005/ 06 with the Dallas Stars and was able to collect 32 points scorer in 79 games.

On 3 July 2008 Miettinen signed his three- year contract over 7 million U.S. dollars at the Minnesota Wild. With the game he missed in the next three years, the playoffs, but personally could stabilize his points haul to 40 points scorer around. After the expiration of his contract with the Wild, he was first out of contract before it was in August 2011 committed by Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League. For the Russians, he scored two goals in 20 games and six assists before his contract was terminated in November 2011 by mutual agreement.

In December 2011, Miettinen signed a contract for two years and three million U.S. dollars at the Tampa Bay Lightning. However, the Finn went through then even the Waiverliste, chose him from the Winnipeg Jets.

After the 2012/13 season he left the Jets and was engaged by Fribourg- Gottéron from the National League A.
