Antti Raanta
Antti Raanta ( born May 12, 1989 in Rauma ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since June 2013 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League contract.
Career
Antti Raanta started with the sport of ice hockey in his hometown at Lukko and went through there all the youth teams. In 2003, he played for the U16, U18 and from 2005 for starting in 2006 for the U20 boys team of the club. In March 2008 Raanta received from his hometown club, a contract with a term of three years. In the 2008 /09 season he was statistically the best goalkeepers of Junior SM- liiga and reached Lukko third place in the championship. Due to these achievements he was admitted to the advanced professional squad of the club before the season 2009/10. On September 22, 2009, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in a 7-3 victory against the Pelicans. Overall, he graduated in the 2009/10 season as the second goalkeeper behind Peter Vehanen respectively Mikael Tellqvist 15 SM- liiga games. In the following season he increased his ice age to a total of 20 main round games and has also been used twice in the play-offs.
In April 2011 he returned Lukko the back and switched to porin Ässät, where he immediately became a goalkeeper. Raanta comes from a hockey family, his grandfather Pekka Ahlsten was as a defensive player part of the champion team of Lukko Rauma in 1963.
