Antti Tuuri

Antti Tuuri ( born October 1, 1944 in Kauhava ) is a Finnish writer and engineer. He received in 1985 for the novel Ostrobothnia the Nordic Literature Prize in 1997 for his novel Lakeuden kutsu the Finlandia Prize.

Antti Tuuri was also active as a librettist: He has the libretti for the operas Ameriikka (1992) and Isontaloon Antti (2000) by Atso Almila written, both of which were listed on the Ilmajoki Opera Festival, as well as for the opera Sinapinsiemen (2000) by Kimmo Hakola, which was performed on August 2, 2001 at the chamber Music Festival Eloserenadi.

Several of his works were filmed, among other things, Ostrobothnia (1988 ), Talvisota (1989 ), Ameriikan raitti (1990 ), Rukajärven tie (1999, filming of Elämä Isänmaalle ) and Lakeuden kutsu ( 2000), which won several Finnish Jussi - film prices were.
