Anže Šetina

Anže Setina ( born May 19, 1986 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian Skeleton driver.

Anže Setina drives since 2006 Skeleton and since 2007 belongs also to the Slovenian national team. The athlete from Kranj debuted internationally in November 2007 with a skeleton Europa Cup race in Igls, in which he was 29. Two months later he arrived in St. Moritz in ninth place for the first time in the top ten. Best finish of the season was a sixth rank in Winterberg. The Junior World Championships 2008 in Igls ended Setina than 13 at the Skeleton World Cup 2008 reached the Slovene in Altenberg Rank 28 In the 2008/09 season started Setina back in the European Cup, reaching different results. In Igls he could reach the podium for the first time almost in fourth place. Also at the Junior World Championships 2009 in Koenigssee he went no farther than fifth -placed at a coin over. In January 2009, the Slovenian Cesana Pariol came first in Skeleton Intercontinental used and was 20 in November 2009, he came in sixth in Winterberg for the first time in the top ten in the second-highest racing series. In December of that year, the World Cup debut followed in Winterberg, in which Setina 15 was. It is also his best ever World Cup placement, which he has since repeated two more times. In January 2010 he started at the Skeleton Championship 2010 Igls, where he was eleventh. The highpoint of the career were the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, where the Slovene finished in 21st place. In the post-Olympic season Setina launched throughout the World Cup. The 2011 European Championships in Winterberg he finished again as Elftplatzierter.
