Ao Luek District

Amphoe Ao Luek ( Thai: อำเภอ อ่าวลึก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of Krabi province. The Krabi Province is located in the west of the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Nuea Khlong the Khao Phanom and Mueang Krabi in Krabi province. In the southwest of the district borders the Phang Nga Bay, Amphoe Thap Put the west lies the province of Phang Nga.

National park

The Than Bok Khorani National Park was established on 30 September 1998. It is 104 km ² and includes rugged sandstone mountains to the coast and 23 islands off the coast.

Management

The Amphoe Ao Luek is divided into nine municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 51 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

In the district there are two areas with a city status ( thesaban tambon): Ao Luek Tai with parts of the Tambon Ao Luek Tai and Ao Luek Nuea, and Laem Sak, a part of the Tambon Laem Sak.

Each tambon is a Tambon Administrative Organization ( TAO ) manages, which are responsible for the areas that are not organized in the cities.
