Aoide

Aoide (Greek Ἀοιδή ) is in Greek mythology, one of the so-called " Titanic " muses ( in contrast to the now common, mentioned by Hesiod nine Muses ). She was the muse of song and music. Her sisters Pausanias are mneme (memory) and Melete (exercise). Cicero mentions as sisters Thelxinoe ( the Heartwarming ), Arche (the beginning ) and Melete. With him, they are daughters of Zeus and the nymph Plusia.

After Aoide the moon Aoede of the planet Jupiter and the ancient Greek poet state is named bard.
