Aorounga crater

The Aorounga is an eroded impact crater in Chad in Africa.

The visible remnant of the crater has a diameter of 12.6 kilometers, its age is estimated to be less than 345 million years.

In the vicinity of Aurounga crater there are two circular structures that were detected using the SIR -C radar of a space shuttle. It is possible that this also is the remains of impact craters. Should be confirmed, their origin could be related to the Aorounga - impact event and its Aorounga part of a chain of craters.
