Apache Continuum

Apache Continuum is a system for continuous integration. Included are features such as automatic build, release management, role -based security system and integration of the popular build and version management systems.

Features

Like most server for continuous integration allows Apache Continuum easy installation by deploying the Continuum Web Archives on an application server. Just as easy Continnum configured via Web Interface and create new projects or configure them.

Continuum supports all popular version control systems such as Concurrent Versions System (CVS), Apache Subversion, Git, Rational ClearCase, Perforce, StarTeam, Visual SourceSafe, CM Synergy, Bazaar and Mercurial, and build tools such as Apache Maven, Apache Ant and Shell builds.

Apache Continuum supports distributed builds, where different projects would be built on different hosts, as well as parallel builds in which projects are built in parallel on one or more hosts. So that the individual builds are ready earlier and software development projects that build on many individual projects are thus built faster.

The builds of the individual projects can be planned manually or in time. Also possible are builds that are automatically started due to changes in the version control system - so-called push - builds. The results of the builds are displayed not only in Apache Continuum itself, but can be communicated to the user as well as news about the build success or error that occurred via email, XMPP ( Jabber), Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger or Internet Relay Chat be.
