Apache Lenya

Apache Lenya is a realized using Java and XML content management system that is built on Apache Cocoon. Apache Lenya is released as free software under the Apache license and can be downloaded free from the Apache Lenya website.

The University of Zurich has published a German-language user guide and sets Lenya for the entire campus one, as well as the University of Geneva.

History

Apache Lenya is developed since 1999, originally under the name Wyona CMS by the Swiss company Wyona for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. In 2003, the Wyona CMS was donated to the Apache Software Foundation and renamed Apache Lenya. In 2004, Apache Lenya was a top-level project of the Apache Software Foundation.

On 11 January 2008, the long-awaited version 2.0, which brought numerous improvements in code and functionality to be published.
